Everton, Newcastle And Bournemouth Battle For Chelsea Teenage Sensation Sol Gordon

Chelsea are facing a serious fight to keep hold of 18-year-old winger Sol Gordon, with three Premier League clubs circling ahead of the summer window.

According to a report from Football Insider, Everton, Bournemouth and Newcastle are all monitoring Gordon’s situation closely at Stamford Bridge.

The trio are ready to pounce should Chelsea fail to secure fresh terms with the teenage attacker before the end of his contract.

Gordon has caught the eye with a series of outstanding performances at youth level, establishing himself as one of Chelsea’s most exciting young prospects.

The 18-year-old right-winger enjoyed a standout campaign for Chelsea’s Under-18s last season, helping the side clinch the title in impressive fashion.

He contributed 11 goals and six assists from 28 appearances in that run, and also featured for the club’s Under-21s on a couple of occasions.

Despite never making his first-team debut, Gordon is highly regarded within the corridors of Stamford Bridge, with the club keen to keep hold of him.

However, contract renewal talks have stalled, and with his deal set to expire within 12 months, the situation is becoming increasingly precarious for the Blues.

Everton, Bournemouth and Newcastle all view Gordon as an exciting long-term option and are keen to add the versatile forward to their squads this summer.

The Premier League trio could offer Gordon a more direct pathway to first-team football, which may prove to be a compelling incentive for the teenager.

Chelsea will hope to agree fresh terms with Gordon in the coming weeks before their rivals are able to formally register their interest with a concrete offer.

The situation represents a broader challenge for Chelsea, who have built one of the most ambitious youth development programmes in English football in recent years.

Losing a player of Gordon’s calibre without a fee would be a bitter blow, making contract resolution a significant priority for the club this summer.
