Como Submit Official Bid For Chelsea Defender As Inter Milan Also Circle Trevoh Chalobah

Serie A side Como have submitted an official bid for Chelsea centre-back Trevoh Chalobah, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.

Romano confirmed the news on his official X account, suggesting Como have moved ahead of Inter Milan in the race for the 26-year-old’s signature.

Inter Milan have not been ruled out of the running entirely, however, with Romano noting they have also looked at Chalobah among their centre-back options this summer.

“Trevoh Chalobah can leave Chelsea this summer and Como send initial official bid for the centre back,” Romano posted on X on June 24.

“Understand Inter have also looked at Chalobah among centre back options. English CB focused on World Cup but UCL clubs keen,” Romano added.

Chalobah is currently representing England at the 2026 World Cup and is not expected to rush into any decision regarding his club future.

With more than 150 Chelsea appearances to his name, Chalobah has been a reliable and consistent servant for the Blues across a turbulent period of managerial and squad upheaval.

Despite that loyalty and consistency, Chelsea appear to be looking to strengthen their options at the back by targeting higher-profile additions in the position this summer.

Como, managed by former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, has emerged as an appealing destination for Chalobah, offering him the chance to play regularly and contribute to an exciting project.

The timing of Como’s bid is notable given that Chelsea are simultaneously working on their own centre-back recruitment ahead of the next campaign.

Crystal Palace’s Maxence Lacroix and Como’s own young defender Jacobo Ramon have both been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge as potential additions to Chelsea’s backline.

Ben Jacobs reported on X that Chelsea are keen on Lacroix, with the west London club looking for a starting centre-back who brings height and physicality to their defence.

Chelsea’s reported interest in Ramon, who currently plays for Como, would add an interesting dimension to any negotiations involving Chalobah moving in the opposite direction.

TEAMtalk reported that Chelsea are stepping up their interest in Ramon, suggesting the club’s defensive rebuild is well underway behind the scenes this window.

With Champions League clubs circling and Chelsea seemingly ready to move on, this summer looks increasingly likely to mark the end of Chalobah’s time at Stamford Bridge.
