Fabrizio Romano Confirms Karim Adeyemi Transfer To Barcelona Is “Really, Really Close”

Barcelona are closing in on yet another attacking signing this summer, with only a transfer fee standing between them and securing the deal.

The Catalan club have already brought in Anthony Gordon and appear determined to add further pace and firepower to their squad.

Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi has emerged as their next target, with trusted transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirming the move is nearly complete.

Romano stated clearly that “Barcelona are going all in… Karim Adeyemi is really, really close to joining” the Spanish giants.

The Italian journalist also confirmed that Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has personally backed the move and is familiar with the 24-year-old.

Romano added that Flick “knows Adeyemi really well and has approved the signing,” with the club seeing significant potential in the German international.

Financial factors are also part of Barcelona’s thinking, with Romano noting that the club see “financial potential” in the player beyond his obvious ability on the pitch.

Crucially, Romano confirmed that personal terms between Adeyemi and Barcelona are already wrapped up, with the attacker having agreed a five-year contract.

“The contract is done, sealed, 5 year contract. Adeyemi wants to go to Barcelona… he’s not negotiating with any other club,” Romano confirmed.

The only remaining hurdle is agreeing a transfer fee with Dortmund, though the German club’s leverage is limited with Adeyemi’s contract set to expire in just twelve months.

Given the timeline on Adeyemi’s deal, Dortmund will likely be willing to accept a reasonable fee rather than risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.

Romano’s level of confidence in the deal suggests an official announcement could follow within the coming days once both clubs finalise the financial details.

Barcelona’s recruitment drive this summer signals a clear intent from Hansi Flick to build a squad capable of competing at the very highest level in Europe.
