Newcastle United have placed a £10 million price tag on goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos as the player seeks a permanent move to Sevilla this summer.
The 32-year-old spent last season on loan at the Spanish club and performed well enough to convince Sevilla they want to bring him back on a permanent basis.
Vlachodimos has not featured for Newcastle since joining the club in 2024, making his situation at St James’ Park increasingly untenable heading into the summer window.
The Greek international has made clear he has no desire to return to Newcastle, with a permanent switch to Sevilla considered the ideal outcome for all parties involved.
Newcastle hold the cards in this negotiation, with Vlachodimos still under contract at the Premier League club until 2028, meaning they are under no real pressure to sell.
According to Newcastle World, the club are prepared to let the goalkeeper leave but only if Sevilla are willing to meet the £10 million valuation they have set for him.
Sevilla are reportedly working with limited resources and had been hoping to secure Vlachodimos on another loan arrangement rather than committing to a permanent deal.
Whether the Spanish club can raise the funds required to meet Newcastle’s asking price remains the central question hanging over this transfer saga in the coming weeks.
From Newcastle’s perspective, holding onto a player who does not want to be at the club and cannot be offered regular football makes little practical sense going forward.
Vlachodimos will be eager to resolve his future quickly so he can fully focus on his football, and a prolonged standoff over his transfer fee is the last thing he needs.
