Inter Miami willing to challenge Man Utd, Real Madrid for starlet

Inter Miami have sold off key young pieces over the last few summer transfer windows. Diego Gómez left to join Brighton & Hove Albion, Federico Redondo was sold to Elche, and Benjamin Cremaschi went on loan to Parma.

While the South Florida club still have Lionel Messi and other veterans like Rodrigo De Paul, it needs to inject youth into their team. Moreover, the majority of the young players who left the MLS side were midfielders.

There’s also more change coming to Inter Miami with Sergio Busquets reportedly set to retire from football once his contract expires after this season. Nonetheless, co-owner David Beckham and the rest of the front office are ready to challenge some of the top European clubs for a promising talent.

TBR Football reports, citing sources, that Inter Miami are looking to go head-to-head with several European giants for the signing of Mexican sensation Gilberto Mora.

According to the report, Mora’s camp is aware of interest from across the globe. He is being tracked by some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Manchester United, Real Madrid, PSG, Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, Juventus, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund.

Premier League teams are also monitoring the young talent closely, with Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, and Manchester City all keeping tabs. Still, Chelsea is considered the main Premier League competitor for Inter Miami, thanks to their recent success in attracting top young stars to Stamford Bridge.

Moreover, TBR Football reveals, citing sources, that Mora’s camp believes Real Madrid—home to Mexican legends Hugo Sánchez and Javier Hernández—could be his preferred destination.

Inter Miami target taking time before making decision

Mora has yet to make a decision about his future and isn’t thought to be rushing into a move. Amid interest from multiple clubs, TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, shared the latest update on Mora’s situation.

“Gilberto Mora is a name that everyone in football is talking about, across Europe,” Bailey said. “There have been a few players that I have heard more chatter about than him.

“He is likely going to be the most talked about player at the forthcoming Under-20 World Cup, and indeed, he is likely to feature at a home World Cup finals – it’s going to be a huge 12 months for Mora and Mexican football.”
