Manchester United, City And Bayern Munich All Chasing £70 Million Everton Defender Jarrad Branthwaite

Jarrad Branthwaite has firmly established himself as one of the most coveted young defenders in English football after a string of impressive performances for Everton.

Manchester City, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich are all monitoring the 23-year-old centre-back, according to a report from The Daily Mail.

All three clubs are keeping a close watch on Branthwaite and could look to launch formal moves during the summer transfer window.

The timing of any potential bid may depend on whether key defensive players depart from those clubs in the coming months.

Everton would ideally prefer to keep Branthwaite at Goodison Park for the foreseeable future, but the club would be open to selling him for a fee of £70 million.

The English international first caught widespread attention during an impressive loan spell at PSV Eindhoven during the 2022/23 season, which paved the way for a sustained run in Everton’s starting eleven.

However, the past twelve months have been more challenging for the defender, as a hamstring injury restricted him to just 10 appearances during the 2025/26 campaign.

Despite that injury setback, interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs has not diminished, with all three suitors continuing to track his situation closely.

Bayern Munich view Branthwaite as an ideal replacement for Kim Min-jae, whose future at the Allianz Arena remains uncertain heading into the summer.

Manchester United have had Branthwaite on their radar for some time, with Harry Maguire in the latter stages of his career and Matthijs de Ligt struggling to maintain fitness.

Manchester City’s interest is equally long-standing, and the club could accelerate their pursuit if Ruben Dias departs the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Whether any of the three clubs will ultimately meet Everton’s £70 million valuation remains to be seen, but competition for the young defender’s signature is clearly heating up.
